During this project, the formation damage types and causes will be evaluated and proper Drill-in, completion and workover fluids for conventional, high weight and HPHT reservoirs will be designed to prevent these damages in other wells. Moreover proper WELL CLEAN FLUID SYSTEM will be prepared to remove these damages, enhance production and acidizing efficiency in drilled wells. |

This equipment is used to measure loss circulation materials performance. Based on the type of formation that is choose to study, disks with defined fractures and sand beds with specified meshes can be used to simulate fractured rocks and permeable formations, respectively. Volume of extracted mud from bottom of apparatus is considered of mud loss volume. Its overpressure is 100 psi and is provided by gas pressure. |

SPD. In normal practice this interval has been drilled in 2 sections. Due to
some issues this interval has been drilled in one section and PDF developed
and successfully operated a High-Tech Fluid System which is both highly
inhibited and reservoir friendly with >13ppg mud weight. |

II: Accepted paper selected as E-poster presentation on Drilling Session, entitled as “Now It is the Time to Forget Potassium Based Shale Inhibitors by Developing Nano Silica-Alumina Based Drilling Fluid; Laboratory Study Proves Improvement in Shale Inhibition and Temperature Stability”.
R&D mangers of companies like CABOT, Baker Hughes and PETRONAS were interested in this nano-drilling fluid replaced KCL for acquiring environmental and economic concepts.

HEAVY-DRILL FLUID SYSTEM has been used in 12 ¼” Hole Section successfully for the first time to combat high temperature gradient in Marun Oil Field. Also, a special temperature stabilizer (TEMP –STAB L350) to stabilize WBM of 147 PCF (2.35 SG) was introduced. While drilling this section, good hole condition helps to reduce time. Hole has been drilled without any condition trip. Mud properties was stabilized in down hole condition and 9 5/8” casing was set successfully.

The 12th International Energy Exhibition was held on 11-14th January 2016 in the Kish International Exhibitions Center with the attendance of 200 internal and external exhibitors. Kish Island is noticeably one of Iran’s most beautiful islands and is a tourist site but given the extensive Oil & Gas reserves in Southern Pars Gas Field, it also hosts many Oil & Gas operators. It was our first time to attend Kish Expo.

Attendance of all stakeholders including contractors, employers, service providers at national and international levels in this gathering, provided a good opportunity to present the capabilities of local companies and also to increase the relationship with foreign companies. Khuzestan’s Specialized Oil, Gas, Refining, Petrochemical and Drilling exhibition was held from 6th to 10th of December 2015 in Khuzestan International Exhibitions Fairground in Ahwaz. Khuzestan province contains some of the biggest oil fields in the world such as South and North Azadegan. PDF has an extensive track records in these fields for providing integrated drilling fluids services and waste management. It was our 5th time that we attended this oil show and more than 400 companies participated in the exhibition.

OBM was replaced with ULTRA-INHIBIT FLUID STSTEM (WBM) in 8 3/8” hole section in Western Marun Oil Field successfully for the first time. This section contains problematic inter layers of shale and limestone with high pressure stressed shale layers which is the main reason for the hole collapse. ULTRA-INHIBIT FLUID STSTEM is high performance water based mud which provides high shale inhibition with lowest density and it is completely environmentally friendly.

The deepest top hole section with 3000m in the complicated Iranian Oil Field “Marun“ has been drilled by CLAY-BOND FLUID SYSTEM successfully. 17 ½” hole section is one of the difficult hole sections with 3000m depth in Aghajari and Mishan Formation with high reactive clays which were caused stuck pipe and downtime during drilling nearby wells. CLAY-BOND Fluid System was used in this section and good hole condition and smooth hole section was observed in comparison with the previous wells.

A paper proposal entitled as “Multi-functional Nano additive in Water Based Drilling Fluid for Improving Shale Stability” was accepted on behalf of Pars Drilling Fluids Company for technical presentation at the 9th International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), 6-9 December, 2015, Qatar, Doha. It is a great honor to be mentioned that Pars Drilling Fluid Company is the only company that will participate in this conference. Despite the fact that the primary function of this Nano additive is shale stability, it improves the rheological properties, lubricity and reduces the fluid loss. The most striking feature of this research is that we consider both the technical performance and scientific issues creating these unique characteristics.
